The domestic violence evaluation, performed by a qualified clinician, involves a detailed assessment of an individual's history, domestic violence history, and personal circumstances to determine the presence of a domestic violence disorder.
The evaluation focuses on the nature of the assessment request, the client's historical background (including adolescence, relationships, children, education, work history, medical issues, criminal history, substance abuse history, mental health history and the incidents of domestic violence victimization and/or offender ), the client's resources (such as independent and stable housing, income, and reliable transportation), and the impact domestic violence has had in the clients life.
The clinician will also utilize screening tools such as the Domestic Violence Inventory (DV), the Victim Index (VI), and the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI-2) to provide measurable information about the client's anger expression and tendencies.
Recommendations for recovery, if necessary, are tailored to the client's specific needs and referrals to resources local to the client are provided.
The fee for the evaluation is $___. Expert court testimony is an additional service provided at a $120 per hour rate.
